Retro glamour is back. Keira Knightly pulls off the look perfectly in her latest film Atonement, with Forties-style waves and a sleek chignon.
This style works with just about any hair type and age. Blow-dry the hair for body and shine. Use the new Mark Hill Style & Shine Power Dryer with built in anti-fluffing device to stop frizzing, then, for a younger, fresher look, pull hair into a loose chignon at the side of the neck. Allow a few strands to fall loose. Bend neat finger waves into damp hair, or use styling irons for defined waves. Add shine with a De Frizz Shine Serum. |

Why not go for this season's up-do - the low chignon?
Just pull your hair back as though you are about to put it into a ponytail, twist it back on itself and start pinning vertically up the back of your head. |

Harsh winter weather can play havoc with even the easiest styles. No matter how many hours you spend taming your tresses, one blast of winter wind and rain can leave them looking more like an 80s' crimping disaster.
Ben Cooke, hairdresser to Victoria Beckham, offers some advice.
"The best way to keep your hair looking great in winter is to wash and condition it regularly, and use more conditioner than usual," he advises. 'try Herbal Essences Fruit Fusions Deep Nourishment and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, or for an eco option, I like Neal's Yard Organic Rosemary and Cedarwood Hair Treatment. A hat also is a great way to protect hair from the elements - plus it'll keep you warm."
The combination of rain and central heating can cause hair to look dull and lifeless. What's a girl to do if she's dashing from the office to an evening out?
"My tip is to wash and blow-dry your hair in the morning and clip it back into a low ponytail," says Ben. "That way, when you let it down in the evening you'll have a silky head of hair." |
